Can custom projects make technical learning more practical?
Technical students often understand difficult concepts better when they can apply them to a realistic problem. While working on a project of my own interest, I used custom technical assignments and found that choosing a practical problem gave me more motivation to research the subject. I also had to think about design choices, testing, and possible improvements instead of only studying theory. That experience made the topic much easier to remember. Should technical courses give students more freedom to create their own projects?
